El 22 de julio de 2004, el centro Hope Academic Enrichment Center se incorpora como organización sin fines de lucro. Iniciado por Mohamed A. Ali como un programa de tutoría informal, el centro está ubicado en St. James Place en White Center (Condado King). Se transformará en una organización multifacética con una academia que abarca desde jardín de infantes a octavo grado y programas de tutoría, deportes, sociales y de preparación para carreras. El centro asiste principalmente a niños inmigrantes del Este de África y sus familias, quienes no tuvieron acceso a una educación formal en sus países natales de Etiopía, Eritrea y Somalia, y tienen problemas de aprendizaje.
