Welcome to the online directory of archives in the Seattle area. This guide originally was conceived as a project by the Steering Committee of the Seattle Area Archivists in anticipation of Washington State Archives Week 2004. We hope that it will provide a useful introduction to the wide range of archival repositories that are available in the local area and that it will serve to facilitate greater access to the diverse collections and resources they preserve and maintain.

Information was collected and compiled by Toby Harris during the summer of 2004. Included here are those individuals and organizations that took the time to respond to our initial survey. We sincerely hope that other archives in the Seattle area will add their information to this guide.
