NEWS from SEATTLE AREA ARCHIVISTS

SPRING MEETING

The Steering Committee would like to offer thanks to Luci Baker Johnson, Manager of Volunteers & Events, and the staff of Historic Seattle for providing our group with a truly excellent presentation and tour of the Dearborn House on First Hill. The program afforded Seattle Area Archivist members a detailed overview of Historic Seattle's programs and services as well as the organizational history and future initiatives of the group. Members also had an opportunity to view Historic Seattle's new Resource Center which is still under construction. It was a highlight of the meeting to be allowed access to a work-in-progress. In the near future the Resource Center will undoubtedly act as another potent advocacy and outreach tool for Historic Seattle and will be a boon for the Seattle community. Historic Seattle's mission to educate, advocate, and preserve vital and threatened historic buildings and architectural artifacts is well-served by its highly energetic staff. Thank you so much!

STEERING COMMITTEE ELECTIONS

Election results are in for Steering Committee assignments for 2008-2009. Congratulations to Kathleen Crosman of NARA-Seattle, Heather Davis of Virginia Mason Medical Center, Emily Hughes Dominick of Providence Archives, and Richard Hobbs of the Winthrop Group.
