Bothell beginnings: Bothell Post Office opens on May 25, 1888.

Bothell Post Office is established on May 25, 1888. Gerhard Ericksen is the first postmaster. Mail is distributed from Ericksen's grocery store at the corner of First and Main streets. Bothell is located 13 miles north-northeast of Seattle on the north side of the Sammamish River.
