Now & Then -- Looking Up Seattle's Pike Street

This Now & Then animation looking up Pike Street is made from two photographs. The first is a postcard shot sometime in the 1920s from the roof of the Joshua Green building. The second is by HistoryLink Staff Historian Alan J. Stein and was shot from the same location in summer 2001. The only landmark that remains between the two shots is the Coliseum, the white building in the lower left quadrant of the image. The corner of this building is barely visible in the "now" view.
