1880 Census: Population of King County nearly 7,000 and that of Seattle tops 3,500 in 1880.

In 1880, the U.S. Federal Census counts 6,970 people in King County, which represents a 4,850 increase in 10 years. Seattle has tripled in size since 1870 to a population of 3,553.

The largest of the 25 counties in Washington Territory are:
