Club Royal Esquire, El (Seattle)

El Club Royal Esquire es un club privado para hombres Afroamericanos en Seattle. Fue fundado en 1947 por cinco jóvenes caballeros, debido a que no había en la ciudad ningún local cordial donde los hombres de raza negra pudieran socializar. Contaba con salas disponibles para reuniones de clubes cívicos y sociales. El Club Estatal de Golf Fir (Fir State Golf Club) y el Club LaClique eran dos de los grupos que se reunían allí con regularidad. Durante la era de los derechos civiles podía verse allí a algunos líderes del movimiento planeando estrategias. Había cenas para recaudar fondos con frituras de pescado, menudos de cerdo (chitlin struts) y sopa gumbo Creole. Durante más de 60 años el club ha buscado maneras de contribuir positivamente a la comunidad en un ambiente de camaradería. El Club Royal Esquire está ubicado actualmente en 5016 Rainier Avenue S, en Columbia City.
